The Mercedes G-Class in the G550 variant appeared in 2009 and was offered with a 4MATIC drive. It is based on a chassis frame structure with a ladder frame (ladder-frame) integrated into a self-supporting body, made of high-strength steel. In 2015, the G-Class of the W463 was redesigned to offer even more luxury and modern technology, while maintaining off-road qualities. The design remained the same, but a 4MATIC+ drive with three differential locks (front, rear, central) was introduced.

Mercedes G550 W463 (2018-present)

In 2018, the car underwent a small revolution. The design assumptions and overall appearance have not changed much, but lighter materials have been used, and in some places also slimmer styling. The range of clearance adjustment in the Airmatic suspension has changed and is 241-295 mm.

In 2020, the car underwent a facelift. There was a new grill, LED headlights with Intelligent Light System as standard, new wheel designs, MBUX NTG 6.0 system with 12.3" touchscreen, improved steering wheel. In 2024, the R6 engine with soft hybrid technology appeared.
