BMW M4 F82

The first generation of the model debuted in 2014 together with the BMW 4 Series, which replaced the 3 Series in the coupe and convertible variants. In the BMW M4, the engine has 6 cylinders in a row. How many horses does the BMW M4 F82 have? The output is 431 hp, but with the Competition package it can be raised to 450 hp. There were two transmissions to choose from — 6-speed manual and 7-speed M-DCT. The latter raises the weight of the car by 40 kg.

The body is made almost entirely of carbon fiber, the exception is the version with a glass roof. An interesting fact is the use of the controversial Active Sound system, where the sound of the engine is amplified in the passenger compartment through the speakers of the audio system. The idea was to be able to seal the inside of the car as much as possible and at the same time allow the driver to enjoy the sound of the car.

The car comes in a convertible version, which has a roof consisting of 3 sections. The car retains the characteristics of the M4 in the coupe version, but is heavier than it. In the case of the variant with a manual transmission, the convertible weighs 178 kg more.

Special versions:

• M4 GTS — limited edition to 700 units. Engine power raised to 500 hp. This result was achieved thanks to the use of water injection developed with Bosch. The system significantly reduces the combustion temperature, so you can squeeze more power out of a smaller capacity. Other equipment elements include KW suspension, safety cage and adjustable carbon fiber spoiler.
• M4 DTM Champion Edition — limited edition to 23 units. It went on sale in the 2014 and 2016 seasons, when BMW won the DTM series. The 2016 series was limited to 200 units. It is based on the M4 GTS, but has changed aerodynamic elements and is painted in sporty BMW colors.
• M4 CS — limited edition to 3000 units, of which 1000 went to the USA. It is 28 hp more powerful than the base version and 16 kg lighter than the M4 with the Competition package, plus it has carbon fiber interior elements and lightweight M seats.
• M4 Cabrio 30 Jahre Edition — limited to 300 units, presented for M3's 30th birthday in convertible version. It was equipped with the Competition package and stood out for its colors.
• M4 Edition M Heritage — limited edition to 750 units, 75 of which were intended for the UK market. The car is based on the basic version with the Competition package and was only available in the colors Laguna Seca Blue, Imola Red and Velvet Blue.

BMW M4 G82

The second generation of the BMW M4 has been produced since 2020 and is already based more on the base BMW 4 Series. The engine is 48 hp more powerful than the previous generation. A year later, the convertible version was presented, which at the start has the Competition package and the M xDrive drive. The BMW M4 G82 is sold with a 6-speed manual transmission and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Competition package was presented immediately at the time of the car's launch. It raises engine power to 510 hp and is only offered with the M Steptronic Sport gearbox. It includes, among other things, an additional gearbox oil cooler, forged alloy wheels, an automatic parking brake and black muffler tips.

Special versions:

• M4 x KITH — limited edition to 150 pieces. It was created in cooperation with the fashion brand Kith. It is distinguished by stylistic elements and painting.
• M4 CSL — limited edition to 1000 pieces. The power was raised to 551 hp, the weight was reduced by 91 kg, and a characteristic spoiler was installed at the rear, reminiscent of the BMW E30 M3.
• M4 3.0 CSL — limited edition of 50 units, created for the 50th anniversary of BMW M. The engine power is 560 hp. All copies were assembled by hand in Stuttgart.
• M4 50 Jahre BMW M — limited to 700 units for the M4 and 500 units for the M3. Available in Carbon Black, Macao Blue, Brands Hatch Grey, Imola Red and San Marino Blue from the BMW Individual range. It has special birthday badges and forged M wheels with a diameter of 19" at the front and 20" at the rear.
