What is the Alpina brand?
Alpina, or actually Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH & Co. KG is a brand founded in 1965 and has been associated with the BMW brand from the very beginning. Its first product was a tuning carburetor for the BMW 1500. At the beginning of its activity and in the 1970s, Alpina was engaged in reworking carburetors, heads and camshafts in BMW engines. In 1983, the brand was included in the list of car manufacturers. In 2022, BMW announced the acquisition of Alpina, and a year later its founder, Burkard Bovensiepen, died.
How is Alpina different from BMW?
The Alpina brand builds its cars on the basis of BMW and BMW M. Differences are not limited only to appearance. The first issue is the improvement of engine parameters. Depending on the model, the manufacturer increases performance by adding a mechanical compressor or using two turbochargers. This means that even in the low speed range, the driver has a lot of torque at his disposal. Thanks to this, it does not have to keep the engine at high revs to drive dynamically.. The second point is the suspension, which is more comfortable than in BMW. All this makes Alpina cars more suitable for everyday use and comfortable travel. This is confirmed by user reviews that can be found on the network. If you are looking for a car that is dynamic, comfortable and unique, then Alpina BMW is for you!
