The next generation was, of course, even more advanced in design. It was built on the basis of the MLB modular platform, the body was made of high-strength steel and aluminum. The weight of the car has been reduced by 100 kg compared to its predecessor. The running system uses a 20 mm lowered suspension with adaptive shock absorbers. More carbon fiber elements appeared, and optionally the roof of the car could be made of it.

The weight has been reduced by 80 kg compared to the RS4 B8. The V8 engine was replaced by a 2.9 TFSI V6 biturbo, which, in the model of its predecessor, was made of aluminum. The RS adaptive suspension is lowered by 10 mm from that of the standard versions. In 2020, the car underwent a facelift, which introduced changes in lighting, Audi MMI and added new suspension options.
